Shooters,

Wow! We shot 44 guns today and still managed to get off the range right at noon. The new bays seem to be working very well. I never noticed how little breeze we got on the north side until now. It sure feels good. I’d like to thank everyone for spending their time and ammunition with us. I’d like to acknowledge our first time shooters: Lee Moore who came in from San Antonio, Domingo Logmao, Chris Waddles, Denise Hagedorn, Troy D. Logmao, Triple Powers (sounds like a superhero name) and Collin Arnold who will be returning to Ohio for college in two weeks. Thank you very much and hope you join us again. It was also nice to see the gang from Jackson County again.

As always the results are posted on the results page and on the Steel Challenge website.

Don’t forget the registration forms for the Texas State Steel Challenge Championship are on the webpage. Rick has been putting in the hours and is already getting some cool stuff for the prize table. As I mentioned this morning we are paying a minimum of 50% of the entries back to the shooters as cash prizes.

Practice is still every Wednesday afternoon from 5:00 until dark. All the shooting you want for $5.00. The club has been setting two stages, if there is any particular stage you want to see set up let me know.

Until next time be safe.

Roy

Shooters,

Thank you for joining us today. We had a total of 27 guns shot and were off the range before noon.

The new bays worked well. It is nice how they open to the south so that the breeze is not blocked by the back wall. Maybe there will shade in place soon. Colonel Davis is now shooting to the north and has the proper light on his targets. We’d all better watch out if he gets any faster. Thank you to the club for the improvement project. I heard two shooters today say that the club is now world class. I’ll have to agree that we have the ability to run about any event now.

What a nice transition to remind everyone of the Texas State Championship we will be hosing in October. Please consider shooting this event. We are anticipating a good turnout and hope to be paying out cash prizes deep into the results.

The results are posted on our scores page. There was an update on the software I report the scores to SCSA with and there is a glitch preventing the upload. I will get with their tech guys this week and get the problem sorted out.

Practice sessions on Wednesday are ongoing. All the shooting you want on two stages for $5.00.

Looking forward to next month.

Roy

Shooters,

The bays dried out just enough to not be sticky.  The rain held off just long enough for us to finish shooting.  Makes for a good day.

Results are posted on the  scores page.

In celebration of the our third anniversay we had a raffle before the match started.  The club donated a box each of .40SW, .45ACP and a bulk pack of .22LR.  Byron from Texas CHL Class donated a box of 9mm for the raffle as well.  Thank you for your largesse.  It doesn’t seem like three years already.  Without the support of all the shooters who support us we wouldn’t still be doing this.  With all the help running timers, recording scores, signing up shooters, running the webpage, painting targets, helping with setup, and things I’m sure I overlook the match runs itself.  The only thing I dread is writing this note!  Thanks to all of you for helping make Steel Challenge a success.

If you have the ammo to spare we are still setting practice stages on Wednesday.  All you the shooting you want for $5.00.

See everyone next month.

Thanks,
Roy
